CAIRO, May 6 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone call Tuesday with Sudanese Minister of Foreign Affairs Omar Siddiq during which he expressed Egypt’s solidarity with Sudan following recent attacks targeting civilian infrastructure and vital facilities in Port Sudan.
Abdelatty accentuated the need to overcome the current dangerous escalation and achieve calm, in order to reach a ceasefire, in a way that would help contribute to guaranteeing the flow of humanitarian aid to war-affected areas and strengthening peace efforts.
For his part, the Sudanese foreign minister appreciated Egypt's support to Sudan, voicing hope to enhance coordination and consultation between both sides in the upcoming period. (MENA)
