SOFIA, April 28 (MENA) - The fourth edition of the National Medical/SPA Conference on Health Tourism will be held on May 20 in Burgas city, the Bulgarian Union of Balneology and SPA Tourism (BUBSPA) said on Monday.

The aim of the event is to discuss the important steps Bulgaria must take in order to position itself as a year-round competitive European destination for health tourism, with a focus on medical tourism, the Bulgarian News Agency reported.

Leading experts from Europe and Bulgaria in the field of health tourism and medicine have been invited to participate.

During the conference, foreign speakers will present good practices from already developed destinations in this sustainable type of tourism.

The event is jointly organized by the Bulgarian Tourism Ministry in partnership with the European SPA Association, Burgas Municipality, and Burgas State University. (MENA)
