Abdelatty said the talks tackled several issues of mutual concern, with an emphasis on the Palestinian cause.
He added the Italian minister conveyed during the talks the support of his country for the Arab-Islamic Early Recovery and Reconstruction Plan in Gaza and its backing for Egypt's tireless efforts to hold a ceasefire in Gaza and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid into the war-torn enclave.
He stressed the need for full commitment to international law and international humanitarian law and that there must be a political horizon for the establishment of a Palestinian state.
The talks also tackled the situation in Libya, said Abdelatty, who reiterated Egypt's firm and strong position on the importance of holding the elections in Libya and the complete rejection of any foreign presence in the country.

Italian Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani about the situation in Syria, Lebanon, and Yemen. He said President Abdel Fattah El Sisi stressed the achievement of an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and the delivery of humanitarian assistance along with the reduction of escalation are all key to achieving security and stability in the region.
For his part, Tajani said his important visit to Egypt is aimed at establishing bridges of peace and confirmed his country's complete support for Egyptian mediation to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza.
He said his country is sparing no effort to reach the ceasefire in Gaza and halt the suffering of the Palestinian people as well as releasing the hostages and prisoners, in addition to reconstructing Gaza.
He stressed the aim is to reach peace with the possibility of achieving the Palestinian dream: the establishment of a Palestinian state recognized by Israel.
Meanwhile, he said his country will work with Libya to find a solution for the holding of elections as soon as possible in agreement with the UN.
Tajani added Italy is supporting the presence of Italian companies investing in Egypt that are ensuring safety, security, and stability for investors. (MENA)
