CAIRO, April 16 (MENA) - Head of the Tourist Syndicate Bassem Halka said the state's plan to develop tourism includes targeting multiple markets and developing infrastructure in tourist and archaeological areas, aiming to reach 30 million tourists annually and enriching the Egyptian tourism agenda with a variety of tourism offerings that vary depending on the nationalities visiting Egypt.

In an interview with Nile News Channel on Wednesday, the head of the Tourist Syndicate said tourism is a field that requires continued planning and development, referring to the state's efforts in this regard, as all drives resulted in broader and better strides than before, with the number of tourists reaching 15 million currently, in addition to working to promote investment opportunities and increase the number of hotel rooms to accommodate the largest possible number of tourists.

Halaka said the state attaches great importance to the tourism sector as a key engine of development for the Egyptian state and bears the responsibility of enhancing foreign currency reserves, strengthening the economy, and providing job opportunities for young people in the various fields.

He added that efforts are underway to enrich the Egyptian tourism agenda through events and activities and address other issues to achieve sustainable tourism. (MENA)
