A high-level delegation is accompanying Hungarian Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó durng his current visit. The delegation comprises a host of ministers, members of parliament, senior businessmen and representatives of Hungarian companies, Abdelatty said.
Szijjártó and Hungarian businessmen will take part in the business forum that will convene later in the day in Cairo, Abdelatty added.
The foreign minister said the remarkable development of economic cooperation between the two countries was commended, adding that an Egyptian energy firm has inked contracts to establish a power station in Hungary, in collaboration with two Hungarian companies at a total cost amounting to two million euros.
Talks with the Hungarian foreign minister touched on the implementation of an agreement on the import of 1,350 railway locomotives from Hungary by the Egyptian National Railways, Abdelatty said.
He added that they discussed cooperation between Egypt and Hungary in the field of communications and information technology, in light of a deal entailing collaboration between an Egyptian company and a Hungarian one in carrying out mega projects in extending a submarine cable system across Europe.
The meeting underscored the importance of pushing forward economic and trade relations between Egypt and Hungary, in accordance with directives of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and the Hungarian prime minister, Abdelatty said.
The top Egyptian diplomat said that the talks discussed prospectives of signing an agreement in the field of air transport to double the number of flights between the two countries.
The Hungarian foreign minister got posted on the desire of the Egyptian side to provide highly-skilled workers to the Hungarian labor market, within the framework of the seasonal workers system, Abdelatty said.
He added that the meetings with his Hungarian counterpart took up cooperation in the tourism sector and increasing the number Hungarian tourists visiting Egypt's tourist destinations. (MORE)
