CAIRO, April 9 (MENA) - Foreign Minister Badr Adelatty has stressed the importance of preserving the stability of Egypt and supporting it politically and economically to strengthen the stability of the region.
The top diplomat's statements came during a meeting with Katja Keul, Minister of State at Germany's Federal Foreign Office on the sidelines of Kartoum ministerial conference.
Abdelatty expressed hope for working with the New German government following its formation to serve the interests of the two peoples in all domains and tackle regional developments.
He expressed hope for increasing the volume of trade and expanding German investments in Egypt especially in the fields of energy, technology and metal industry.
Abdelatty said that Egypt gives top priority to the issue of illegal migration to serve cooperation with the European Union pointing out that Egypt hosts nearly 10 million illegal migrants and refuge seekers.
They discussed conditions in the Gaza Strip and the importance of Egypt's efforts to stabilize the ceasefire in the Palestinian territory.
The Foreign Minister posted the German official on Egypt's stance vis-à-vis developments in Libya to solve the political crisis in the North Africa country and hold presidential and parliamentary elections. (MENA)
