Sisi said at the joint press conference with his French counterpart Macron that he welcomed the French support for Egypt, as the European Parliament has approved a €4 billion second tranche of a larger €7.4 billion macro-financial assistance (MFA) package for Egypt.

The measure is reflecting the high appreciation of the strategic and comprehensive partnership between Egypt and European Union and stresses the vital role Egypt plays as a cornerstone of stability in the Middle East and the Southern Mediterranean region and the African continent.

Sisi said he discussed with Macron the consecutive developments at both the regional and international arenas, topped by the catastrophic situation in the war-torn enclave of Gaza.

The two leaders emphasized the necessity of returning to the ceasefire deal immediately and the safe and sustainable delivery of humanitarian assistance into Gaza along with releasing hostages.

Sisi said that they agreed on rejecting any calls to displace the Palestinians and discussed the Arab Recovery and Reconstruction Plan.

We agreed on the need of coordinating joint efforts regarding the Gaza reconstruction conference, that will be hosted by Egypt, once acts of aggression stop in the strip, added Sisi.

Sisi said Macron will be posted on Egypt's strenuous efforts to promote the humanitarian support for the Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Sisi thanked the French side for its constant backing for Palestinian brothers.

Sisi reiterated everlasting and permanent stability and peace will remain unreachable, if the Palestinian cause is not settled and the Palestinian people are still facing woes of wars.

Sisi said he discussed with Macron ways of launching a credible political horizon to revive peacemaking and establish the Palestinian state along the June 4, 1967 borders with al Quds as its capital.

He added the talks also tackled the developments in Syria and Lebanon and we agreed on the importance of maintaining unity, safety and sovereignty of Syria and the necessity of ending the Israeli occupation of the Syrian land. (MORE)
