CAIRO, April 6 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty stressed Egypt's total rejection of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank (WB), as well as Israel's brutal use of military force without any regard for the principles of international humanitarian law.

Abdelatty made the comments during his meeting on Sunday with a delegation of the Churches for Peace in the Middle East Organization (CMEP) headed by Dr Mae Elise Cannon, the organization's executive director.

The top Egyptian diplomat stated Israel's practices fuel the feelings of hatred and hostility in the Middle East and contradict the foundations of peaceful coexistence called for by all divine religions.

He warned that the failure to stop Israeli violations and provocations could lead to a widespread wave of anger that threatens to have serious repercussions on international peace and security.

On their part, the CMEP delegation members expressed their great appreciation of the constructive role played by Egypt to secure a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, in addition to its pioneering role in supporting regional peace, security and stability.

They affirmed their outright rejection of Israel's violations against the Palestinian people and of any attempts to forcibly displace Palestinians from their land.

CMEP representatives commended the Egypt-crafted Arab plan for the early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza, as well as Egypt's sincere efforts to de-escalate the situation and stop the war. (MENA)
