CAIRO, March 31 (MENA) - President Abdel Fatah El Sisi expressed keenness on de-escalation in the region to prevent violence from spiralling out of control and ensure stability and security for all peoples.

This came in a telephone call the president received from President Masoud Pezeshkian of Iran on Monday.

Presidential spokesman Mohamed El Shennawy said the two leaders exchanged greetings on Eid El Fitr where the Iranian president wished Egypt progress, stability and prosperity.

The Iranian president appreciated Egypt's non-stop efforts to reach a ceasefire in Gaza. (MENA)
