CAIRO, March 27 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said the government is keen on ensuring the availability of medicines and medical supplies in the local market and making sure the sustainability of providing high-quality health services to citizens.
Madbouli made the remarks on Thursday during his meeting with Minister of Health and Population Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk, Head of the Egyptian Drug Authority (EDA) Ali El Ghamrawy and Chairman of the Egyptian Authority for Unified Procurement, Medical Supply and Technology Management ( AUPP ) Hisham Stait, said Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed el Homsani.
The health minister highlighted the importance of effective coordination between EDA and AUPP in providing a safe stock of medications and medical supplies, as well as securing raw material needed for the pharmaceutical industry, as part of the State's plan for localizing the manufacture of drugs and medical supplies.
The spokesman stated the meeting took up the progress made in settling outstanding payments to pharmaceutical companies. (MENA)
