CAIRO, March 27 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said the development of the northwestern coast must come within the context of the State’s main goal of enhancing the importance of the area and maximizing its added value to national economy through achieving integrated development rendering it a global attraction at the tourism, residential, logistical and all levels.
During a meeting Thursday to following up on work pace of the development project of the northwestern coast in the area starting from the west of Ras El Hekma to the of East Matrouh, the prime minister directed forging up an action plan for the comping period in this regard in a way that would contribute to the development of this area in accordance with the State’s goals.
Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Sherif el-Sherbiny, Governor of Khaled Shuaib and Director of Dar Al-Handasah Consultants (Egypt), Ltd. Ahmed bdel Azim and and Assistant Minister of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities for Technical Affairs Abdel Khaleq Ibrahim took part in the meeting.
During the meeting, the director of Dar Al-Handasah Consultants reviewed the strategic plan of the western Ras El Hekma region aiming at achieving the State’s vision in this respect.
Abdel Azim touched on the general context of the region, site analysis, similar experiences, the project’s vision and its design idea, accentuating that the west of Ras El Hekma is the most important coastal city.
He said the site is connected regionally through an integrated network of transportation means, including highways, high-speed trains, airports, and the proposed Ras El-Hekma port, which strongly supports the development vision for the area.
Abdel Azim provided an analysis of the site in terms of the local, urban and natural environment, noting that the vision of integrated development of the place aimed to preserve the prevailing environmental and social pattern.(MENA)
