CAIRO, March 26 (MENA) - Egypt strongly condemned the Israeli army’s bombing of the town of Koya in the countryside of Daraa province, which resulted in the killing and injury of dozens of innocent civilians.

In a press release on Wednesday, the Foreign and Emigration Ministry emphasized that Egypt is rejecting Israel's exploitation of the domestic developments in Syria to seize more Syrian lands and undermine security and stability in the country.

Egypt said such Israeli assaults on the Syrian territory are considered a flagrant violation of international law and international humanitarian law, added the press release.

Egypt is warning of the serious repercussions of Israel's aggressive policies and urging the United Nations Security Council and influential powers worldwide to shoulder their responsibilities toward facing this dangerous escalation in Syria, it added.

Egypt is underscoring the necessity of respecting the unity, stability and sovereignty of Syria, the statement said. (MENA)
