CAIRO, March 22 (MENA) - Thanks to the great support of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi since he took the helm in 2014, Egyptian women have proven their ability to overcome challenges and play an effective role in their communities once they are given the trust and opportunity, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation Rania Al Mashat said.

Mashat made the remarks in her speech during a ceremony held in celebration of Egyptian women and ideal mothers of 2025, in the presence of President Sisi.

“Egypt has always been among the countries that make women's empowerment a top priority,” Mashat said.

She added that today marks the 25th anniversary of establishing the National Council for Women, and integrating women's component, gender equality, and equal opportunities, for the first time, into the country’s five-year national plans since the 2002-2007 plan, following a groundbreaking model across the Arab region.

On behalf of all Egyptian women, Mashat extended heartfelt thanks to President Sisi who was the first to believe in the important role Egyptian women can play for the advancement of their country and a better future for generations to come.

In his speech at the event, President Sisi extended warm greetings on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, coinciding with the Great Lent observed by Christian Egyptians. He expressed his sincere appreciation for Egyptian mothers, recognizing them as symbols of resilience and sources of inspiration. (MENA)
