CAIRO, March 12 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly said Egypt's economic profile boasts many positive indicators, noting that the government’s budget outline for the next fiscal year was presented to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi last Sunday.
Allocations for the Takaful and Karama social protection program will increase to EGP 53 billion in the next fiscal year, compared to EGP 40 billion in the current fiscal year, Madbouly told a press conference after the Cabinet’s weekly meeting on Wednesday.
He added that allocations for social protection, health and education will also rise in the budget of the coming fiscal year.
The prime minister said inflation has been on a downward trajectory, noting that Egypt registered an annual inflation rate of 12.5% in February 2025, the lowest in three years.
He attributed this decrease to the economic reforms undertaken by the government, which, he said, have begun to bear fruit. (MENA)
