PORT SAID, Egypt, March 11 (MENA) - The Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone) announced that the ports of east and west Port Said and Al Arish in the northern area recorded a strong inflow of ships last February with a movement of total of 252 vessels carrying loads exceeding 4 million tons.

A statement issued Tuesday by the SCZone said, West Port Said Port received 69 vessels carrying 328,000 tons and 19,000 containers.

East Port Said Port received last February 131 vessels, with total loads of 3.2 million tons and 308,000 containers, the statement said.

Al Arish Sea Port received 52 ships to export casting products to foreign markets, with a capacity of 586,000 tons, amid an expected increase in casting products exports within the upcoming period following renovation operations in the port, it added.

The SCZone said it is keen on attracting international shipping lines and investors to implement various investment projects in light of the tangible overhauling operations witnessed in all ports, including the infrastructure and superstructure development, especially in docks and platforms to make them capable of accommodating giant ships.
