CAIRO, March 10 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty urged the international community to play its role in ending the humanitarian disaster in Gaza, highlighting Egypt's efforts in delivering humanitarian aid to the war-devastated Strip.

This came during a meeting he had Monday with President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Kate Forbes.

Abdelatty expressed keenness to continue fruitful cooperation with the IFRC and support its mission as the largest network of humanitarian organizations that brings together more than 190 national societies around the world.

He reviewed the tireless Egyptian efforts to consolidate the ceasefire agreement in Gaza in its three stages.

Abdelatty referred to the Arab Summit's approval of the Egyptian plan for early recovery and reconstruction of Gaza, where he stressed the importance of combining the efforts of all national societies affiliated with the IFRC to implement the plan, including the early recovery phase.

Egypt provides humanitarian and relief aid in various regions, specifically in Gaza, Sudan, Lebanon and Syria, he said, pointing out the possibility of Egypt becoming a regional center for managing the operations of international organizations working in the field of relief and humanitarian aid.

He noted the efforts made by Egypt to receive large numbers of refugees and migrants and provide them with all services and care they need. (MENA)
