CAIRO, March 10 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty has underscored the importance of implementing all phases of the Gaza ceasefire agreement by all parties.
During a phone call on Monday with EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas, Abdelatty discussed the latest regional developments.
Foreign Ministry Spokesman Tamim Khalaf said the minister briefed Kallas on the outcomes of the recent Arab Summit, particularly regarding the Arab plan for early recovery, reconstruction, and development in Gaza, which has gained broad support from Arab and Islamic nations.
He welcomed the EU statement endorsing the plan and emphasized the need to intensify international efforts to ensure its implementation.
The minister also highlighted Egypt’s preparations to host a conference on Gaza’s reconstruction in cooperation with the Palestinian government and the United Nations.
He expressed hope that the EU would continue providing essential humanitarian aid to address the dire situation in the war-devastated enclave.
Abdelatty reaffirmed the necessity of establishing a political horizon for settling the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, stressing that a two-state solution remains the only viable path to lasting peace in the region.
The conversation also covered developments in Syria, where the top diplomat reiterated Egypt’s support for the Syrian state, its national institutions, and its stability amid recent security challenges.
He stressed the importance of an inclusive political transition that represents all segments of Syrian society, ensuring the country emerges as a pillar of regional stability. (MENA)
