AMMAN, March 4 (MENA) - Planes carrying first batch of Gaza children receiving medical treatment at kingdom's expense arrived here Tuesday, Jordan News Agency (Petra) reported.
The Jordanian Armed Forces evacuated about 28 children from the Gaza Strip to Jordan, as part of the first batch of 2,000 Palestinian children to be treated at Jordanian government and private hospitals.
They will be returned to Gaza after having completed their medical treatment in Jordan.
Earlier in the day, Jordanian ambulances and buses belonging to the armed forces arrived in the Gaza Strip to evacuate the first batch of children in need of medical treatment, in line with royal directives.
During his meeting with US President Donald Trump in Washington on February 11, King Abdullah II announced the evacuation of about 2,000 children with cancer and those suffering from serious medical conditions in Gaza to Jordan to receive treatment, as part of Jordan’s efforts to strengthen the humanitarian response in the Strip.
