CAIRO, Feb 27 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone call with his Lithuanian counterpart, Kęstutis Budrys, discussing bilateral relations and future cooperation.

During the conversation, Abdelatty congratulated Budrys on his recent appointment and welcomed holding the next round of bilateral political consultations in Cairo.

He also stressed the importance of the upcoming session of the Joint Economic, Technical, and Scientific Cooperation Committee.

The top diplomat highlighted Egypt’s growing interest in expanding cooperation in telecommunications, cybersecurity, and e-governance, building on the successful visit of Egypt’s ICT Minister to Lithuania in 2022.

Abdelatty also called for increased Lithuanian investments in Egypt and business delegations to strengthen economic ties.

On regional matters, he outlined Egypt’s efforts to maintain a ceasefire in Gaza and develop a reconstruction plan. He commended Lithuania’s stance on the Palestinian issue and its commitment to a two-state solution. (MENA)
