SUEZ, Egypt, Feb 27 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli inaugurated Thursday the first phase of the ready-made factory complex of the Main Development Company (MDC) and the "Alu Pyramids For Aluminum Industry and Trade" factory, located within the complex.

Officials briefed Madbouli on the modern and innovative operational systems in place following the completion of the complex’s infrastructure, making it ready for operation.

The officials explained that the ready-made factory complex operates under the "Plug & Play" system and spans 222,000 square meters, offering approximately 150 ready-to-use factory units across three phases with a total projected investment of EGP one billion.

So far, the complex has achieved remarkable success, with all 14 factories of the first phase fully contracted at a total investment cost of EGP 150 million. The second phase, which will offer 60 ready-made factories at an estimated investment of EGP 350 million, is set to begin, followed by the third phase, which will provide 76 ready-made factories at an expected investment of EGP 500 million.

The prime minister also inaugurated the Chinese "Alu Pyramids" factory, which manufactures metal frames for solar energy cells.

The factory is the first to commence operations within the first phase of MDC’s ready-made factory complex, marking the official start of production.

It plays a vital role in localizing the solar panel manufacturing industry, which is essential for green hydrogen and green ammonia production.

With an investment of $2 million, the factory has an annual production capacity of 10,000 tons.

It is fully automated, relying entirely on robotics and laser technology, with advanced automated production lines.

Additionally, it utilizes 100% locally sourced raw materials, making it the first factory of its kind in the Middle East and Africa specializing in the production of aluminum alloys and profiles for solar panels.

The project's second phase will focus on large-scale production of aluminum sheets, reducing the need for imports; a crucial step toward localizing solar cell component manufacturing and supporting renewable energy development. (MENA)
