SUEZ, Egypt, Feb 27 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli inaugurated "Flex PET Egypt factory for manufacturing polyester resin, during his visit Thursday to the Integrated Industrial Zone in Sokhna, affiliated with the General Authority for the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).
Chargé d'Affairs of the Indian Embassy in Cairo C. Sushma took part in the opening ceremony of the Indian company Flex PET project.
The prime minister listened to an explanation from Ram Sagar, a member of the company's board of directors on the details about the factory producing polyester resin (PET); a raw material used as key component in many industries.
He said the factory is built on an area of 125 thousand square meters, with investments worth of dlrs 175 million. It has an annual production capacity of 580 metric tons and provides 850 direct and indirect job opportunities, he added.
He also reviewed the company’s most prominent investments in Egypt, including implemented projects, along with future ventures.
Also, Sanjay Sharma, member of the company's board of directors and director of operations posted the prime minister on the stages of production. He said the factory produces polyester, which is used in the manufacture of packaging products for liquids such as juices and dairy.
Madbouli inspected the raw materials section, divided into powder raw materials and liquid raw materials, transported through special pipes. Then the mixing stage taking place through specialized devices in certain proportions, until reaching the production of “polymer” - dried in the second stage of the production process in the form of granules used in the production of packaging materials in the final stage of manufacturing.
