SUEZ, Egypt, Feb 27 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on Thursday witnessed the inauguration of a clothing and textile factory of Egypt Cady Textile Company in the TEDA-Egypt zone within the Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE).
While inspecting the factory, the premier said the Egyptian State pays great attention to the textile industry, underlining the importance of increasing Egypt's textile products that enjoy significant competitive advantage in regional and global markets.
Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel El Wazir said the textile sector brings added value to the national industry and provides several job opportunities, adding the State drew up a plan for making high-quality textile products.
On his part, SCZONE Chairman Walid Gamal El-Din said the authority works to attract global investments to its different industrial zones, noting the factory costs nearly USD 100 million and secures 4,500 direct and indirect job openings.
Shi Yi, CEO of Zhejiang Cady Industry Company, said the clothing and textile factory is built on an area of 250,000 square meters and started trial operation in January 2025.
In a related context, Yang Jun ming, the director general of Egypt Cady Textile Company, said the factory produces 10,000 tons of fabrics in its first phase and is planned to post annual profits worth USD 35 million.
The factory's second phase is due to start in March 2025 and ends in October 2025, while the facility's actual operation will start in December 2025, Yang added. (MENA)
