CAIRO, Feb 26 (MENA) - Egypt strongly condemned on Wednesday the latest Israeli attacks against the Syrian territories, describing them as a systematic escalation, a blatant violation of international law, and a disregard for the UN Charter.

In a statement by the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, Egypt stressed that Israel’s actions exacerbate tensions and constitute a flagrant violation of Syria’s sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity.

Egypt called on key international actors and the UN Security Council to fulfill their responsibilities in compelling Israel to cease these blatant violations and ensure an end to such actions.

The statement also reaffirmed the importance of Israel’s withdrawal from the Syrian territories it recently occupied in violation of the 1974 disengagement agreement, as a step toward a full withdrawal from all Syrians lands occupied since 1967.

Egypt stressed that the Golan Heights is an occupied Syrian territory. (MENA)
