CAIRO, Feb 24 (MENA) - Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli said that the "Sports Expo 2025" exhibition and conference is an important international platform for promoting investment chances, creativity and innovation in sports.
This annual sports event is aiming to tap multifaceted horizons for establishing active partnerships in a way that reflects Egypt's leading role as a distinguished destination for sports and sports investment worldwide, added Madbouli.
He said the government is now working to provide investment chances in the sports sphere.
On behalf of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, Madbouli had inaugurated Monday the third edition of the "Sports Expo" that will last until February 26 with wide participation from major clubs, sports federations, and companies specialized in sports technology and sports investment.
He was accompanied by Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi and some other ministers and Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber along with a number of ambassadors and state senior officials.
Madbouli said the state has given greater attention to the sports sector in the past few years out of its belief in its role in improving the quality of life for different segments of the society.
The state has been acting to develop the sports infrastructure and facilities and establishments of the sports system while carrying out giant developmental projects nationwide, added Madbouli.
Sobhi confirmed that the "Sports Expo 2025" exhibition and conference is the leading sports exhibition in the Middle East and North Africa, attracting more than 200 participants and an estimated 15,000 visitors this year, including local sports manufacturers, club owners, equipment providers, athletes, and various sports service providers.
The event aims to bring together regional and international decision-makers, providing an important opportunity for networking to support collaboration, innovation, and growth in the sports industry.
It also allows visitors to discover the latest developments, exchange ideas, and build significant partnerships, representing a leading platform to showcase innovations and sports projects.
In this context, Sobhi explained that the Ministry of Youth and Sports is organizing this exhibition and conference in strategic partnership with Soccerex, the world-leading name in the football industry, and the strategic partner United Sports, with extensive participation from major clubs, sports federations, and companies specialized in sports technology and investment.
At the same time, the minister informed the prime minister that the "Sports Expo 2025" will officially host the international football conference "Soccerex MENA" for the first time in the Middle East and North Africa, which is a leading global conference in the football industry, representing a new phase towards promoting growth, cooperation, and innovation across the global football landscape.
Following the opening ceremony, Madbouli and his companions toured several of the exhibition's pavilions, starting from the Youth and Sports Ministry's pavilion, where he listened to an explanation from the minister about the main activities its hosts, highlighting the distinguished participation of the ministry's sports technology incubator "MOYS," which is funded by the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, with the aim of allowing participating companies to showcase their innovative ideas.
During his explanation about this incubator, the minister informed the prime minister that his ministry seeks to promote a culture of sports technology, as it is a new concept that is hoped to bring about a technological revolution in sports in Egypt, in a way that will contribute to improving the performance of athletes, coaches, and the audience through the use of technology, especially artificial intelligence.
He emphasized that developing sports technology is not merely an option but has become an urgent necessity to keep pace with contemporary developments and achieve sporting excellence at both local and international levels, pointing out that the "MOYS" incubator represents a vital platform to support creative youth and provide them with opportunities to develop their ideas and turn them into successful projects that contribute to enhancing sports in the Egyptian state.
While inspecting the Youth and Sports Ministry's pavilion, the prime minister and his companions observed several models of various sports facilities in Egypt, reflecting tangible development that showcases a real sports boom.
In this context, Sobhi clarified that the ministry is working to maximize the optimal utilization of sports facilities it has established as part of its strategy that prioritizes citizen health, noting in particular the new generation of smart sports facilities, including the Egypt International Olympic City, while also highlighting the ministry's strategy to develop the infrastructure of youth and sports facilities across the country by 2030.
The three-day exhibition aims to bring about a fundamental transformation in the sports scene by integrating technology with innovation.
"Sports Expo 2025 " is based on three main axes that aim to promote the role of sports as an economic and development tool.
The first axis is "Sports and Technology", that focuses on showcasing the latest digital solutions and trends in sports performance analysis, artificial intelligence in training and virtual reality, with a view to enhancing fan experience and advanced live broadcasting trends.
The second axis is “Sports Investment” and focuses on financing and sports sponsorship opportunities and and ways to help clubs transform into sustainable economic entities, through smart partnerships and sponsorships.
The third axis is “Enhancing Fan Participation” that focuses on the latest sports marketing strategies and the role of digital analytics and social media in increasing fan engagement. (MENA)
