CAIRO, Feb 20 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli stressed the State’s keenness on developing and raising efficiency of government slaughterhouses in the various governorates to enhance services offered to citizens.

During a meeting Thursday to follow up on upgrading government slaughterhouses, the prime minister highlighted efforts meant to enhance slaughterhouses' capabilities to provide health and safe services to citizens in accordance with occupational safety and health standards.

Madbouli directed that the Ministry of Local Development, in coordination with the Central Reconstruction Agency, develop a plan to hand over the slaughterhouses that had been completed, and offer them to the private sector for management and operation, in a way that would help best exploit and manage assets, thus preserve investments pumped into this sector.

Minister of Local Development Manal Awad, Minister of Housing and Urban Communities Sherif el-Sherbiny, and head of the Central Agency for Reconstruction Mahmoud Nassar took part in the meeting.

The minister of local development reviewed efforts exerted in this regard, noting that the total number of slaughterhouses reached 464, pointing out that the development of 41 slaughterhouses has begun and also referred to logistical slaughterhouse in Damietta, in addition to 20 private slaughterhouses.
