CAIRO, Feb 20 (MENA) - Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli on Thursday held a meeting to review the strategic blueprints for establishing New Suez City and New Sphinx City.

The meeting was attended by Housing Minister Sherif El-Sherbiny, Suez Governor Tareq El-Shazly, Deputy Governor of Suez Abdullah Ramadan, CEO of the Tourism Development Authority (TDA) Mostafa Mounir, Deputy Chairman of the New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA) Walid Abbas, Deputy Chairman of the New Urban Development Authority Ahmed Moussa, Chairwoman of the New Suez City Authority Asmaa Makhlouf and Head of New Sphinx City Development Authority Ahmed Anwar, as well as the two consultancy firms in charge of planning the two cities.

The premier said the New Suez City is in high demand by investors for its proximity to several industrial and economic zones, while the New Sphinx City is established nearby new Sphinx International Airport (SPX), Giza's Pyramids and the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).

On his part, the housing minister said the New Suez City has a special location, as it lies along the Suez Canal Corridor, which contributes to offering several investment opportunities in the shipping industry.

Sherbiny added the New Suez City is situated close to a number of seaports, which supports the country's capacity of container handling to serve as a hub for transit shipping and free trade, in addition to promoting the localization of export-processing zones and assembly industries.

Concerning the New Sphinx City, the housing minister said the blueprint includes implementing several leisure, tourism and service projects, given its proximity to the Grand Egyptian Museum, the Pyramids area and the Sphinx International Airport. (MENA)
