Madbouli also spoke about the Croatian prime minister's visit to Cairo this week during which an Egyptian-Croatian business forum was held yesterday that was preceded by some bilateral talks that covered a raft of important topics, including the Russian-Ukrainian crisis, the Middle East crisis, and the situation in Gaza.

He said one of the most important announcements made by the Croatian premier during his visit is that his country opens arms for more Egyptian workforce.

The Croatian official recognized that Egyptians are among the top ten foreign workers in Croatia, Madbouli added, noting that the two sides had agreed to embark on new joint projects in the tourism and industrial sectors.

Discussing important economic indicators, Madbouli said unemployment rate decreased to 6.4 per cent during the fourth quarter of 2024.

As for the government's efforts to attract new investments, especially in the real estate sector, Madbouli said during a recent meeting with the Cabinet's real estate export and development committee, a set of executive steps had been adopted to work for maximizing returns from real estate exports and luring foreign investments in the real estate sector.

Another meeting was held between the Fiscal and Monetary Policy Coordinating Council and the Macroeconomic Advisory Committee, and we also agreed on a set of visions and scenarios to deal with ongoing challenges at the national and global levels, Madbouli pointed out.

Madbouli concluded his remarks by discussing availability of staple commodities at affordable prices, especially with the Holy fasting month of Ramadan expected to start early next month.

Having opened the “Ahlan Ramadan” exhibition in Cairo earlier this week, today we will open the exhibition in Giza as well, the prime minister said,

He indicated that over 120 of these exhibitions had already been opened nationwide, along with 220 one-day markets distributed all across the country.

In cooperation with the private sector and the Federation of the Chambers of Commerce, the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade has launched Ahlan Ramadan (Welcome Ramadan) exhibitions across the country to provide essential foodstuffs at reduced prices.

The exhibitions are held in public squares, retail chains, hypermarkets, shopping malls, and ration food outlets. (MENA)
