CAIRO, Feb 18 (MENA) - Personal Representative of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to the G20 and BRICS and Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Ragy el Etreby Monday discussed with French President Macron's Special Envoy for the India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) Gérard Mestrallet strategic international corridors.
The French special enviy is visiting here at the invitation of the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
During talks with the French official, Ambassador Etreby highlighted Egypt's distinguished strategic location, which has been supported by numerous competitive advantages and a modern infrastructure extending across Egypt.
He also highlighted Egypt’s considerable experience in logistical and technical services related to international shipping and transportation, given the existence of the Suez Canal, a matter that underscores the importance of Egypt's role on the route of many strategic international corridors.
The ambassador attributed the success of these corridors to geopolitical developments in the Middle East, highlighting the importance of harmonized international efforts to achieve just peace and durable stability in the region.
Meanwhile, the French Special Envoy expressed appreciation for the invitation extended to him to visit Egypt, highlighting Egypt's historic role as a strategic hub linking the East and West.
Mestrallet said that the French side seeks to get firsthand information about remarkable achievements realized in the Egyptian infrastructure in various sectors, including transportation and logistics.
The two sides agreed on maintaining coordination and cooperation in a way that maximizes shared interests. (MENA)
