CAIRO, Feb 17 (MENA) – Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides asserted that the inking of two Egyptian-Cypriot natural gas agreements on the sidelines of the 8th Egypt Energy Show (EGYPES 2025)
reflects the strength of the strategic partnership between Egypt and Cyprus.

Despite the complex circumstances and challenges that Egypt is currently facing, these agreements contribute to paving the way towards further development, Christodoulides said during the inauguration ceremony of EGYPES on Monday. “We are working together to develop a road map that shows that Egypt and Cyprus are key partners,” he added.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and his Cypriot counterpart witnessed the signing of the two deals between their countries to begin developing natural gas discoveries in Cyprus using Egyptian hydrocarbon infrastructure.

The first agreement was signed by Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawy, Cypriot Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry Giorgos Papanastasiou and Chief Executive Officer of Eni Claudio Descalzi. The second one was signed by Badawy, Papanastasiou and Clay Neff, the president of Chevron International Exploration and Production (E&P) activities. (MENA)
