CAIRO, Feb 16 (MENA) - Chief-of-Staff of the Armed Forces Ahmed Khalifa on Sunday inspected security measures on the western strategic front.

The inspection tour falls within the framework of the Egyptian Armed Forces general command’s commitment to monitoring the security situation at the country’s border crossings and entry points on all strategic fronts.

During the tour, the chief of staff checked on Salloum land port, where he was briefed on the work system of the port as well as security measures adopted throughout the day to tighten up control on the state's western borders.

Khalifa reviewed several security checkpoints along the western border to assess the security system and the living and administrative conditions of the soldiers.

He conveyed the greetings and appreciation of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces and Minister of Defense and Military Production Lt. Gen. Abdul Maguid Sakr to the army personnel for their devotion in protecting the nation.

The chief of staff acknowledged the personnel's role in countering infiltration and smuggling activities along the western strategic front.

Moreover, Khalifa shared a meal with the soldiers at one of the border points.

The tour was attended by a galaxy of top-bras commanders. (MENA)
