CAIRO, Feb 10 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi chaired the 42nd Session of the NEPAD Heads of State & Government Orientation Committee (HSGOC) which took place virtually with the participation of the committee's member states.
According to the spokesman for the presidency, the meeting took up AUDA-NEPAD activities in 2024, topped by the developments pertaining to the feasibility study for the establishment of an African Investment Fund and the Second Ten-Year Implementation Plan for the fulfillment of Agenda 2063, which is Africa’s blueprint and master plan for transforming the continent into the global powerhouse of the future.
The meeting covered means of pressing ahead with efforts to implement the agenda, that is the continent’s strategic framework that aims to deliver on its goal for inclusive and sustainable development through overcoming challenges of rising poverty and unemployment rates and food, water and energy insecurity.
Talks also took up Africa's efforts to promote infrastructure development, improve education and health systems, generate jobs for youth, encourage inter-African trade, address the climate crisis and shore up cooperation among countries on the continent.
