CAIRO, Jan 25 (MENA) - Senate Speaker Abdel Wahab Abdel Razek sent on Saturday a cable of greetings to President Abdel Fattah El Sisi on the occasion of the anniversary of Al-Israa and Al-Miraj.

Abdel Razek said in the cable: "On behalf of myself and on behalf of the members of the Senate, I am pleased to extend to you and to the Egyptian people the warmest heartfelt greetings on the occasion of the anniversary of Al-Israa and Al-Miraj, the night journey of our noble Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, from the Sacred Mosque to Al-Aqsa Mosque, and his ascension to the heavens."

The speakers expressed wishes that further peace and prosperity would prevail across Egypt.

Al-Israa and Al-Miraj (Night Journey and Ascension of the Prophet), is observed by Muslims on the 27th of the Hijri month of Rajab.

The event marks the night that Allah took Prophet Muhammad on a night journey from Mecca to Al Quds and then to heaven.(MENA)
