President Abdel Fattah El Sisi called on attendees at celebrations marking the 73rd Anniversary of Police Day to observe a moment of silence in honor of the souls of Egypt's righteous martyrs from the army, the police and the Egyptian people over the past years.
The call was made at the start of the president's speech during the celebrations at the premises of the Police Academy in New Cairo.
President Sisi said that the Egyptian state is moving on the right track despite the challenges.
During the celebrations, the president assured the Egyptians that "No one can touch Egypt despite the rumors and lies targeting us."
The president said Egypt does not conspire against anybody but rather builds and constructs inside its territories.
The president called on all members of the society to be aware of problems besetting the country.
President Sisi said Egypt is a big country and cannot be threatened.
He pointed out that he discussed during a meeting in October with state leaderships, governors and security officials the importance of reviewing security preparedness and plans to secure Egypt.
Sisi said that Egypt, which accommodates 120 million citizens and guests, lives in security thanks to the role of the state institutions, the Armed Forces and the police.
The president called on citizens not to worry because no one can harm the country despite the challenges and the incidents that took place during the past months near the borders. (MENA)
