BELGRADE, Jan 22 (MENA) - Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty lauded the outcome of the historical visits of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to Serbia in July 2022 and the Serbian president to Cairo in July 2024.

The visits have contributed to boosting bilateral cooperation in various domains, especially in the economic and trade scores.

Abdelatty, currently visiting Serbia, made the remarks on Wednesday during a meeting with Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević.

He underlined the importance of continuing to exchange high-level visits to bolster bilateral relations, referring to a visit by Serbia's first lady to Aswan in November 2024 to attend the Arab African Investment and International Cooperation Summit.

Abdelatty underlined the importance of continued political consultations between the two countries to review means of promoting bilateral cooperation as well as a host of regional and international issues.

He welcomed the inking of a free trade zone agreement between Egypt and Serbia in July 2024, expecting a quantum leap in trade exchange and economic cooperation between the two sides in the coming years.

He said Egypt is looking forward to holding the 29th session of the joint economic committee in Cairo in mid 2025.

Abdelatty highlighted the importance of the periodical convocation of the joint businessmen council.

He reviewed available potentials for boosting investments between the two sides, highlighting the importance of deciding the top priority sectors for cooperation and boosting tourism in both countries. (MENA)
