DAVOS, Switzerland, Jan 21 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli affirmed Egypt’s commitment to expanding renewable energy projects as part of its strategy to tackle climate change and reduce carbon emissions.
Speaking at the World Economic Forum in Davos, he highlighted the government’s plan to increase renewable energy’s share in the national energy mix, focusing on its role in supporting investments in the green hydrogen industry.
During a meeting with Hans Olav Raen, CEO of Yara Clean Ammonia (YCA), Madbouli praised ongoing cooperation in green hydrogen projects and expressed interest in enhancing this partnership to increase Egypt’s renewable energy production capacity.
The premier emphasized that renewable energy represents "an investment in the future," while Raine commended Egypt’s efforts, noting the significance of bilateral agreements signed during President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s recent visit to Norway.
Both sides discussed long-term collaboration in the production of green hydrogen, ammonia, and fertilizers, aligning with Egypt’s goals for sustainable development and climate resilience. (MENA)
