CAIRO, Jan 13 (MENA) - The State gives top priority to the health sector and improving public health services, affirmed Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli.
He pointed out to directives issued by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi to swiftly implement the various phases of the comprehensive health insurance system.
Madbouli's remarks were made during a meeting held on Monday to follow up on the executive position of the first phase of the comprehensive health insurance system and the ongoing preparations to implement its second phase.
The meeting, attended by a host of ministers and senior officials, tackled a detailed report about the work of the General Authority for Comprehensive Health Insurance, said Cabinet Spokesman Mohamed el Homsani.
It pointed out to the number of services that are covered by the insurance system, which have so far reached 3,451 and that are offered to patients through 406 establishments in the governorates targeted by the first phase; namely Port Said, Luxor, Ismailia, South Sinai and Suez, added the spokesman. The number of registered beneficiaries in these governorates stands at 3.8 million, according to him.
The meeting also took up progress in the ongoing digitization operations in various entities affiliated to the comprehensive health insurance sector. (MENA)
