CAIRO, Jan 9 (MENA) - President Abdel Fattah El Sisi directed the government to intensify efforts to ensure proper governance of resources and assets in ongoing projects, adhering to the highest international standards.

Chairing a high-level meeting Thursday, Sisi emphasized the need for new state projects to align with the national strategy for economic development and attracting more foreign investments.

The meeting grouped Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Minister of Housing, Utilities, and Urban Communities Sherif El-Sherbiny, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Hassan El-Khatib, Presidential Advisor for Urban Planning Amir Sayed Ahmed, Chairman of the New Administrative Capital Company Khaled Abbas, and Head of the Armed Forces Engineering Authority Ahmed El-Azazy.

Presidential Spokesman Mohamed El Shenawy said the President was briefed on the progress of various Ministry of Housing projects, investment development plans for urban areas, and the ongoing construction activities in facilities and infrastructure of the New Administrative Capital, implemented in accordance with the highest global standards for smart city management.

He also reviewed the latest developments in the New Administrative Capital Company’s activities, including investment, development, and marketing efforts.

Discussions covered the management and operation of the Central Business District (CBD) and mechanisms to attract global investments to the massive project, which aspires to rival the world's largest financial and business centers.

Sisi stressed the importance of regular monitoring of all executive work in the CBD in collaboration with implementing companies, adhering to a detailed and defined timeline.

He also highlighted the need for ongoing engagement with operators, ensuring compliance with the highest quality standards and the use of cutting-edge technologies. (MENA)
