CAIRO, Dec 31 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli affirmed the government’s commitment to revitalizing historical Cairo as part of a broader effort to preserve Egypt’s cultural heritage while modernizing its urban infrastructure.

Speaking at the "Arabesque" project handover ceremony in Sour Magra El Oyoun district, Madbouli emphasized that this transformation is a cornerstone of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi’s development vision.

Madbouli highlighted the extensive work being undertaken to redevelop Sour Magra El Oyoun, once a neglected area associated with pollution and decay.

This effort is part of a larger plan, with over EGP 22 billion invested in central Cairo projects, including the restoration of Fustat Gardens, Ain El-Sira Lake, and Azbakeya Park.

The Premier noted that Fustat Gardens, spanning 500 acres, is set to become a green cultural hub similar to the Green River in the New Administrative Capital.

Meanwhile, plans for Khedival Cairo aim to restore its reputation as the "Paris of the East," turning it into a tourism and hospitality hub.

Madbouli emphasized that the transformation of Sour Magra El Oyoun from an informal settlement into a sustainable urban center showcases Egypt’s ability to honor its past while building for the future. (MENA)
