The foreign minister said Egypt adopts an overall approach to combating terrorism, which is based on the security, economic and social axes.

This approach aims at creating jobs and employing youth, cutting off funding for terrorist organizations, and fighting extremist ideology through the religious institutions, topped by Al-Azhar Al-Sharif, Abdelatty added.

As for Egypt and Chad’s clear visions of the Libyan and Sudanese crises, Abdelatty said Egypt and Chad are neighboring countries to Libya and Sudan, and the crisis that both countries are going through is negatively affecting Egypt and Chad.

Egypt and Chad are keen on stepping up efforts to reach a ceasefire in Sudan and engage in a comprehensive political process, he said.

As for Libya, they stressed the importance of holding presidential and parliamentary elections and work to unify state institutions.

There are genuine efforts exerted by Egypt and Chad to find a political solution to the two crises, Abdelatty stressed. (MENA)
