Speaking at the 11th Developing Eight Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8) Summit, Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called for strengthening economic cooperation among developing countries, in a way that serves their peoples and contributes to achieving sustainable and comprehensive development, while focusing on the role of young people and women as a major driver of the national economy and community development.

Abbas said Palestine pays great attention to developing education and applying digital transformation, despite the ongoing Israeli occupation of its territories.

The Palestinian leader underlined the importance of supporting small and medium-sized enterprises, as well as major projects in the fields of renewable energy, food security, agriculture and industry to achieve economic growth.

Abbas highlighted the daily crimes committed by Israeli occupation forces against the Gaza Strip, urging the immediate implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 27/35, which demands a ceasefire, the delivery of humanitarian aid into Gaza, and the full withdrawal of the Israeli occupation from the Palestinian enclave.
