Speaking at the 11th D-8 Summit, Malaysian Higher Education Minister Zambry Abdul Kadir asserted the necessity of supporting the economy that is calling for promoting creations, innovations, state-of-the-art technologies and Artificial intelligence (AI).

In his address, Abul Kadir added the D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation was launched in 1997 and has been supporting the economy in member states and promoting the participation among countries.

The organization has been always focusing on improving the economic position of all states, he added.

The organization is very important as it represents 15% of total world population, in addition to the possession of lands, resources and great human resources, he went on to say.

Though D-8 economy is estimated at 1.3 trillion dollars, which, he said, is a big percentage, the volume of trade and economy among member countries does not exceed 170 billion dollars, which is a very slight figure. (MORE)
