CAIRO, Dec 17 (MENA) – Egypt greatly focuses on strengthening trade exchange with Bangladesh and cementing bilateral ties, said Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty Tuesday.

The minister's remarks came during his meeting with Bangladesh’s Additional Foreign Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Riaz Hamidullah at the premises of the Foreign Ministry in Cairo.

Abdelatty reviewed promising trade and investment opportunities in Egypt that could contribute to opening new horizons of bilateral cooperation.

Both sides also lauded special historical ties between Egypt and Bangladesh in different domains.

Abdelatty also underlined the need to boost mechanisms on cooperation between Azhar and Bangladeshi authorities in light of the pivotal role of Azhar on spreading tolerance and moderate teachings and combating extremism.

The minister also shed light on Egypt’s efforts to restore regional security and avoid escalation in Gaza, Lebanon and Syria. (MENA)
