CAIRO, Dec 17 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty and Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar praised the positive momentum in bilateral relations during a meeting in Cairo ahead of the D-8 Summit scheduled for Thursday.
The two ministers agreed on enhancing economic ties, boosting trade, and encouraging mutual investments while coordinating closely on regional and international issues. Abdelatty, meanwhile, stressed the importance of working with Pakistan during its 2025-2026 UN Security Council membership.
They discussed the historical role of Al-Azhar in Pakistan and explored expanding cooperation through programs to combat extremism and train religious leaders.
Regional developments in Gaza, Syria, and Lebanon were also addressed, with both sides agreeing to maintain regular consultations to promote stability and cooperation. (MENA)
