PORT SAID, Dec 10 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli followed up on progress in the second phase of Port Said's tourist walkway project, located on Palestine Street, during his visit to the governorate on Tuesday.

During his tour of the site, Port Said Governor Maj. Gen. Moheb Habashi provided a detailed presentation, explaining that the first phase of the walkway's redevelopment spans 178 meters and includes Gate 1 of the port.

The ongoing second phase adds another 435 meters, with a 250-meter section undergoing renovations, including modernized shop façades and redesigned upper levels to match the project’s overall aesthetic.

He added that the development preserves the walkway’s historical charm with basalt tiles, decorative seating, vintage-style lighting, and ornamental plants, blending modern upgrades with Port Said’s heritage. The project also features Gates 3 and 8, and a newly constructed glass-walled restaurant offering panoramic views of the port.

Efforts have focused on optimizing traffic flow, preventing congestion, and enhancing green spaces with sculptures and decorative elements. The design allows visitors and residents to enjoy unobstructed views of the port through well-planned pedestrian paths and seating areas.
