CAIRO, Nov 28 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign and Emigration Affairs Badr Abdelatty Thursday hailed the historic relations between Egypt and Djibouti, underscoring the importance of furthering ties through capitalizing on the strides made in enhancing bilateral cooperation over the past period

The foreign minister said that beefing up relations between Egypt and Djibouti demonstrates firm commitment of both political leaderships to strengthen ties at all levels.

Abdelatty made the remarks while receiving Djibouti's Parliament Speaker Dileita Mohamed Dileita, who is visiting Cairo.

Abdelatty and Dileita tackled the distinguished relations between the two sisterly countries.

Abdelatty highlighted the importance of strengthening cooperation, exchanging expertise in parliamentary affairs, establishing Egyptian-Djiboutian friendship committees within both Senates along with activating existing committees in the Houses of Representatives.

He also underlined the importance of maintaining the pace of parliamentary delegation visits, in light of the significance of parliamentary and legislative relations between the two countries.

Meanwhile, the two sides exchanged views on several regional issues of common interests, particularly the situation in the Horn of Africa.

They reaffirmed the importance of the maintained dialogue and consultation towards serving the mutual interests and enhancing regional stability and security. (MENA)
