CAIRO, Nov 25 (MENA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty said Monday military solutions do not bring about regional peace and stability, calling for addressing the roots of instability in the region by ending the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territories.

Abdelatty made the comments during his participation on Monday in a panel discussion titled "Dialogue for Peace", on the sidelines of the Rome MED Dialogues conference.

The foreign minister reviewed Egypt's efforts with regional and international partners to reach an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, especially in light of the catastrophic humanitarian situation in the Palestinian enclave as a result of the ongoing Israeli aggression.

Abdelatty reiterated Egypt's outright rejection of the forcible displacement of Palestinians from their lands.

On the future of Gaza, the foreign minister emphasized the necessity of empowering the Palestinian National Authority to run the Palestinian enclave, warning about any attempts to separate Gaza from the rest of Palestinian territories.

He also highlighted Egypt's supportive stance towards Lebanon at the political and humanitarian levels, expressing Egypt's total rejection of any infringement on Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The foreign minister affirmed Egypt's respect for the Lebanese people's desire to elect their president without foreign interference.

Abdelatty highlighted Egypt's endeavors to secure an immediate ceasefire in Lebanon.

The top Egyptian diplomat spoke about the updates in the Red Sea region, where he underscored the need to adopt a comprehensive approach to putting an end to the war in Gaza and working to reduce the rising tensions in the Red Sea, which have a major impact on the Egyptian economy. (MENA)
