CAIRO, Nov 21 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs Badr Abdelatty praised Thursday the vital role played by the Egyptian community in the Democratic Republic of Congo in strengthening relations and cooperation between the two sides, and contributing to the implementation of development projects in various economic, social, cultural and other important service fields, which contributes to strengthening ties between the Egyptian and DR Congolese peoples.
This came during a meeting held by the Foreign Minister with the Egyptian community in DR Congo, within the framework of his official visit to the capital, Kinshasa.
Abdelatty said the continuous communication of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with communities abroad is at the top of the ministry's priorities, pointing to the active role played by Egyptian embassies and consulates in following up on the conditions of Egyptian communities abroad.
Abdelatty reviewed the ministry's plan to develop consular services, most notably the digitization of consular transactions, in order to facilitate consular services for Egyptian citizens abroad, as well as launching a number of services and initiatives for Egyptian expatriates.
He was keen to learn about the challenges facing members of the Egyptian community in the DR Congo, and to listen to any suggestions and ideas that would enhance cooperation between the embassy and members of the community.
He pointed out the important role played by Egyptian communities abroad in supporting their homeland. (MENA)
