CAIRO, Sept 28 (MENA) – President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has expressed Egypt’s complete backing of Lebanon, rejecting any steps that could negatively affect the security, stability, sovereignty, or territorial integrity of the Arab country.

President Sisi on Saturday had a phone call with Lebanese Prime Minister Najib Mikati, in which they reviewed the latest developments in the Israeli aggression on Lebanon.

The president underlined the need to halt such aggression immediately and cease fire in Lebanon and the Gaza Strip permanently, Presidential Spokesman Ahmed Fahmy said.

Sisi warned that any escalation in the region will pose threats to regional and international stability and peace.

The president also directed to send emergency medical and relief aid to Lebanon immediately, voicing Egypt’s ongoing support for the Arab country at all levels.

For his part, the Lebanese prime minister lauded Egypt’s support and great effort on restoring security and stability in the region. (MENA)
