CAIRO, Sept 25 (MENA) – Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said the political leadership is dealing with foreign issues in the most prudent and discreet manner, while the government is working for fulfilling citizens' daily needs across all sectors.

Madbouli was speaking during a news briefing following the government's meeting at the Cabinet's premises in the New Administrative Capital on Wednesday.

He began by addressing foreign issues, pointing to the widening conflict in the region this week, especially the Israeli hostilities in Lebanon over the past few days, and the dangerous possibility of getting other factions from countries like Iraq and Syria involved in the ongoing conflict.

"This is what Egypt has warned about since day one of the crisis in Gaza," the premier said, referring to of the growing risk of an all-out regional war that could lead to a global humanitarian catastrophe.

Madbouli stressed that Egypt is against the Israeli aggression on Lebanon as well as any violence against civilians in any region. He also warned about the repercussions of the ongoing conflict on all parties, especially neighboring countries, including Egypt.

The Egyptian government has been studying all possible scenarios, including the worst-case scenario that the conflict might expand to other countries or be allowed to simmer for long periods, the prime minister noted.

He stressed that the government is working hard with all state parties to ensure internal stability and secure the State's basic needs, while dealing with foreign issues and challenges in the most discreet manner. (MENA)
