CAIRO, Sept 17 (MENA) – Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigration Badr Abdelatty asserted that Egypt is working on boosting its potentials in the field of energy to be a hub for producing and exporting energy including natural gas, new and renewable energy and nuclear power.

This came in Abdelatty’s answer to a question on fields of cooperation between Egypt and Hungary in the nuclear reactors technology during a joint press conference with visiting Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Péter Szijjártó.

Safety rates in Dabaa reactors are at the highest level, he said, adding that these reactors will contribute to supplying 4.8 megawatts of electricity for development and exporting energy.

Egypt has several power linkage projects with European countries including Greece and Italy, he said, asserting that Egypt has a main role in producing and exporting energy.

He noted cooperation in the fields of agriculture and water.

Answering a question by MENA on holding the Egyptian-Hungarian business forum today and his vision on expanding the range of economic cooperation between both countries, Szijjártó said that there success stories in the field of water treatment and an investment project by a Hungarian company to develop new irrigation systems in Egypt.
